Early 1900's Train Depot is now the new home to the Waycross Visitors Center and Waycross-Ware County Chamber of Commerce. The surrounding area offers many exciting attractions to enjoy, including Obediah's Okefenok Swamp Homestead, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Obediah's includes boardwalks, nature trails, museums, plants and animals offering a "Swamper's" view to the Okefenokee.

Okefenokee Swamp Park, located in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, is a convenient point of entry and a magnificent show-window for this natural wonderland, with lily decked water trails that lead to all points in this vast wilderness of islands, lakes, jungles, forest and prairies.

THE LAKES AT LAURA S. WALKER STATE PARK

Boat tours, wilderness walkways, Pioneer Island and native animals in their own habitat, all combine to weave a spell of pioneer American life. Laura S. Walker State Park, near the Okefenokee, features a 120-acre lake and pool, picnic shelters, group shelters and a nature trail, along with camping, waterskiing, dock fishing, canoeing and bird watching.

The Lakes at Laura Walker Golf Course at Laura Walker State Park, a Championship 18-hole golf course and Pro Shop featuring three large lakes, is home to many animal inhabitants to make for an enjoyable day on the greens. Southern Forest World exhibits and Okefenokee Heritage Center preserves the Okefenokee rich heritage.
